Tips for Speed, Safety & Security

Now, more than ever, the urgent transportation industry is being put to the test.
In this world of heightened airport security and new federal regulations for moving air cargo, getting goods where they need to go on time and on budget leaves no room for error. Quick has been working aggressively with regulatory authorities, the airlines and clients to ensure that its trademark high level of service is never compromised.
To help secure the most rapid, cost-effective delivery possible, there are also
several steps shippers can take before their packages even leave the door.

The following checklist provides tips on how to prepare packages for shipping when minutes count.

1) RE-VERIFY AS A KNOWN SHIPPER
Re-Verification Alert: New FAA regulations require that all shippers moving freight by air on passenger aircraft be re-verified with their transportation vendors. If you have not yet re-verified your account, please contact us through one of the following outlets - it only takes 5 minutes!
E-mail your name, company name and phone number to recertify@qintl.com
Call Marie Vigliarolo, VP of Marketing at 800-488-4400 ext. 2406
Call your local sales representative
In order to receive the fastest possible same-day shipping service, please be sure that your account is re-verified. For existing Quick customers, the re-verification process is completed in one day. If you’ve never shipped with Quick before, set up an account now and you’ll be verified within seven days.

2) DOUBLE CHECK THE PAPERWORK
All international shipments require a Commercial Invoice, and those commodities with a value in excess of $2,500 require a Shipper’s Export Declaration. A Schedule B number is also recommended on the Commercial Invoice and the SED.

Please note: An original copy of the Shipper’s Export Declaration must be sent along with the shipment. Faxed copies are not accepted by export customs any longer.

3) COMPLETE A QUICK BILL OF LADING
Available when placing orders online at www.quickonline.com, or through Quick’s customer service department, the bill of lading should have the correct address and working phone number for your consignee. Also, make clear exactly what it is that
you are shipping so that Quick can easily handle any customs or special care concerns.

4) LABEL THE BOX
In addition to the bill of lading, each package should be labeled clearly, indicating both
shipper and consignee details.

5) PACKAGE PROPERLY
There is an art to perfect packaging when dealing with extremely fragile or awkward items.
